We’re excited to offer a brilliant opportunity for a Purchasing Supervisor with sourcing expertise to make a real impact supporting the Fluid Power team.
There is no such thing as a typical day however your responsibilities would include:
• Oversee and coordinate day-to-day purchasing activities to keep supply running smoothly
• Support, motivate, and guide the purchasing team, helping to prioritise workloads and develop capabilities
• Source, negotiate, and place orders for materials, components, and services that meet business needs
• Keep a close eye on supplier performance and work proactively to resolve any quality, delivery, or cost issues
• Look for opportunities to reduce costs and support longer-term sourcing and supplier improvement initiatives
• Ensure all purchasing activities follow company processes, quality standards, and commercial terms
• Maintain accurate purchase orders, pricing, and lead times within the ERP/MRP system
• Anticipate and manage supply chain risks, taking early action to avoid delays or shortages
The kind of things that will help you stand out in this role:
• Proven experience in a buying/purchasing or procurement-based role
• Previous experience supervising or mentoring others, with the confidence to lead day‑to‑day activities
• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills, with a focus on quality, cost, and delivery
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, production, and planning teams
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
